The NPK – ‘Current’ event

This Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Mateel Community Center, the high energy dance band NPK will host a release party for their third self-produced independent album, The Current.

The band is comprised of Tanner Speas on vocals and guitar, Dave Murray on saxophone, Tao Ryce on 5-string bass, Gregg Gratzel on drums and Galen Davis on percussion. The show will also include the premiere of the NPK’s first music video. The doors  open at 6:30 p.m. with a cover charge of $10. The music will start with This Dying Wish at around 7 p.m. Next, Subliminal Sabotage will perform and then be followed by the music video and NPK’s show. Meanwhile, dinner and desserts will be served by Beginnings to raise money for their new kitchen. Also beer and wine will be available to those who are 21 and over. The proceeds will benefit the Mateel Community Center. The new album will be for sale along with a new line of NPK clothing which is silk screened by the band. This is an all-ages event and everyone is invited to join in the celebration of true independent Humboldt County music. For more information, contact (707)223-3749 or
