Arcata Eye Scene

A-town art, music, theatre. Mostly music. Updated Wednesdays.

Eye music recommendations: Thursday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 21

Thursday night at the Jambalaya and Friday at 7 p.m. at The Metro, you can see A Gun That Shoots Knives. No, not a gun that shoots knives, but one of Seattle‘s coolest exports.

Here’s AGTSK‘s bio from The Stranger:

“Imagine if Frank Zappa, Ween and Beck all decided to make quirky, punky pop music together. A Gun That Shoots Knives’ songs are infectiously catchy, but weird as hell; and they all sound completely different. They range from surreal kids songs like our hygiene tribute “Hey, Soap” to grand space-themed rock ballads like “Rest Ye Now, Robot Spider” to straight-up sugary pop like “Fireflies.” … Our live show is sexy and weird. We always wear costumes on stage (but have only once or twice managed to have them match), and we MOST STRONGLY encourage our fans or anyone else to wear costumes, too! Even at our shows! Check out our extensive library of free songs, look at our current tour dates, and look at our stupid costumes at! Feel free to contact us there for booking, for volunteer information, or for any other reason at anytime. Hooray for us! Hooray for you!

Here‘s another good link, including the above photo that really sums up all that is great about AGTSK.
